Schoolarship Offer: 5G and QKD Expert.

Workplace: Center for Computational Simulation (CCS), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Campus de Montegancedo). Avenida de Montepríncipe P.C. 28660 Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, España.

Line of research: project DISCRETION, a quantum communications project recently awarded to Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, but also other the associated projects when appropriate. The candidate will work in the integration on Quantum Key Distribution systems and encryptors into production facilities following novel networks paradigm such as Software-Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization. Specifically, he/she will work on the integration of QKD comunications on modern 5G infraestructure to protect critical infrastructures using modern security protocols and tools like IPsec. The candidate will implement secure interfaces and applications for all communications between the components of the QKD network, covering both the classical part and the software elements that control quantum communications. The candidate also will work on the configuration, administration and management of 5G environment.

Experience required: The candidate should be familiar with linux system management, and he/she should have good knowlledge about network communications, security and 5G. It is espected to have good knowles on system administration and also experience on the setup and management of QKD and 5G hardware ans software. It is desirable that the candidate have good programming skills, especially in Bash, Python and C/C++. It is also desiabel to have knowledge on classical cryptography and security. We will also value the candidate’s ability to work as part of a team, on his/her own initiative, as well as his/her communications skills. We also expect some experience in the development of high Technological Readiness Level software development.

Conditions:

• 37.5 h/week (full time).
• 1.200 gross €/month.
• 12 months duration, with expected start date: 16/12/2022.
