The 3rd European FET Flagship was launched in Vienna last 29th of October 2018, the Quantum Flagship. The project will last 10 years and counts with a budget of 1.000 million euros. The CCS’ Director, Vicente Martín and his research team will take part in this project.
Vicente will lead the UPM’s participation as the PR of the Continuous Variable Quantum Communication (CiViQ). The project aims to develop a Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system in order to ensure that quantum computers will not break our current cryptography nor the methods that are considered secure.
Researchers expect this system to be cheap and easily adaptable in emerging telecommunication infrastructures, as well as being directed towards the end user.
