This paper aims to demonstrate the applicability of the Visual Graph algorithm in the characterization of the surface texture in manufactured parts. An experimental methodology has been designed to this purpose. Several surfaces have been manufactured with two different end-mills and using a set of different feed values. On the one hand, typical values of roughness parameters such as Ra and Rq have been experimentally determined and otherwise numerical values of the measured profiles have been characterized by Visual Graph algorithm. The main results obtained are presented and also the conclusions reached.
