We are currently offering two positions to do research in the integration of quantum communications in telecommunication networks. We expect the candidate to be familiar with network protocols and APIs. We also expect the candidate to have experience on optical networks and classical and modern cryptographic systems and algorithms. We will value the candidates’s ability to work as part of a team, on his/her own initiative, and his/her comunication skills. We also expect somo experience in the development of high Technological Readiness Level software development.

Most od the research work will be conducted in the frame of one of the recently awarded projects in the European Quantum Flagship Program.

The candidate will work in integration of Quantum Key Distribution Systems in novel networks paradigm. He/she will do research in interfaces, architecture, networks optimization, deployment, etc. of quantum communications. The candidate will also be responsible for the integration of QKD Systems into real production networks, dealing with new research lines such as the coexistence of classical and quantum communications in the same physical media.

The candidate will join the research group on Quantum Information and Computation (www.gcc.fi.upm.es) at the Center for Computational Simulation (www.ccs.upm.es), in collaboration with the Future Network Lab in Telefónica.
