The specific terminology of a specialty language comes, essentially, from specific uses of already existing words and/or from specific combinations of words so called “collocations”.
A mobile robot equipped with 2D or 3D range sensors can move without changing its range readings if the perceived environment is poor in features. This is an ambiguous situation because a single perception can be associated with several robot poses.
In this paper a new approach for merging overlapping grids for CFD simulations is presented. The proposed strategy is a preprocessor that integrates the overset meshes into a single mesh suitable for unstructured finite volume vertex-centered Navier–Stokes solvers.
In this work we present a strategy for single mesh generation from multiple overset grids for an unstructured finite volume vertex-centered Navier-Stokes equations solver.
Quantum based technologies have been fundamental in our world. After producing the laser and the transistor, the devices that have shaped our modern information society, the possibilities enabled by the ability to create and manipulate individual quantum states opens the door to a second quantum revolution. In this paper we explore the possibilities that these new technologies bring to the Telecommunications industry.
The recent evolutions in the convergence of QKD and classical communication systems are described, together with the relevance of SDN as a suitable approach for a real integration between QKD and WDM networks. Preliminary experimental results on a discrete-variable QKD prototype working in the O-band co-propagating with 40 50-GHz C-band information channels are reported, showing the capabilities of QKD in short/medium reach optical networks.
